Photography Introduced Me to Remarkable People. Curiosity Kept Me Listening.
For more than a decade, I thought I was building a photography business. Looking back, I realize photography was quietly building something else in me.
Three years ago, I started sitting behind the camera during the Workforce Connections podcast. I thought I was there simply to photograph leaders.
I didn't realize I was also learning from them.
Through more than 150 conversations with CEOs, educators, entrepreneurs, nonprofit leaders, and public servants, I learned how organizations work together, how trust is built, and how leaders collaborate to strengthen Southern Nevada.
Through the Vegas Chamber President's Club, I also had the opportunity to observe those relationships beyond the podcast. I watched conversations become partnerships, ideas become collaborations, and people from different sectors work together to serve our community.
I began paying as much attention to the conversations as I did to the portraits.
I began my career in pharmacy, later earned an MBA, and eventually built a portrait photography business. Looking back, those chapters were not separate careers. They were different paths leading to the same destination: understanding people and how they create meaningful impact.
Those experiences inspired me to begin building the Nevada Leadership Archive, a long-term project documenting the leaders, partnerships, and stories shaping Southern Nevada. Every project deepens my understanding of leadership, reveals new opportunities for collaboration, and introduces me to people who genuinely care about making our community stronger.
This website has grown with me over the years.
It began as a place to share my photography. Today, it has become a place to share what I'm learning through the people I meet, the books I read, and the conversations that continue to shape how I think about leadership, psychology, philosophy, and life.
Photography introduced me to remarkable people.
Curiosity keeps me listening.
